In 2005, thee were 1,010 farms in Warren County and each farm averaged 123 acres. Total cash receipts from agricultural commodities was almost $40 million. Information from the Agricultural Statistics Service (shown below) shows the breakdown of major commodities sold in Warren County.

Horses are not included on this list by OASS.  However, the horse industry is a significant segment of the local agricultural economy. 

 

Farm Operators

According to the 1997 Census of Agriculture, the ages of farm operators by percentage is the following:

  48.0%
65 plus: 
  26.7%

The average age of a Warren County farm operator in 1997 was 55.1 years old.
